Nighthawk 6 Aerials.What aerial(s) sends what band?

Im curious i have 6 aerials on this router but im curious what aerial sends what band ?

Tri band.... So I assume two aerials to each band?
Reason I ask is I want to direct the 5ghz aerials to where I mainly use that band !.

I'm not sure I've seen those details in any 'teardown' report or review?

You've got limited ability to position those, especially the 2 inside ones....

In any event, Beam Forming would probably be of more help (I assume you have it on) that repositioning the antenea's.

5Ghz has a sharp drop-off compared to the 2.4Ghz band. Doubt changing the orientation would buy you much?

Some pages to look at:

On the first link on Page 4 is all about Smart Connect you asked before BTW.

Also, the date of those links are old and apply only to the old original firmware. NG has made improvements (and it seems bugs) in the firmware since then.

@IrvSp
Thanks mate I have heard of beam forming but having gone through all the settings I didn't see beam forming mentioned !
Should there be a setting / menu for it on the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 R8000 ?
I heard the radios emit from the antennae almost like a donut shape not sure If through or not

Right there on ADVANCED tab on top, on left, ADVANCED SETUP, WIRELESSS SETTINGS, and on the bottom of the page, "Enable Implicit BEAMFORMING - Boosts WiFi speed, reliability, & range for all mobile devices ". Probably checked by default I think?

More info here, https://kb.netgear.com/23503/Beamforming-FAQs.

YUP

Clicked as default !

The Wi-Fi signal beams out from the sides of the antenna,  so the signal doesn’t shoot into the ground or ceiling.
