Nighthawk 7500v2 white power light blinking and network name not found

Hi,
I had to power down my router when it returned the power light keeps white and blinking. Modem is fine with internet and let me add that the router WiFi name disappeared, I cannot find it as it was configured. Reset does not work and now my router is like dead and phantom. Not sure how to access it if cannot be discovered. Pls HELP!!!

Hi Fabic7,

I found the KB for this power light blinking issue. It is saying that you would need to contact Tech Support to proceed.

If the Power LED blinks slowly and continuously, the router firmware is corrupted. This can happen if a firmware upgrade is interrupted, or if the router detects a problem with the firmware. If the error persists, you have a hardware problem. For recovery instructions, or help with a hardware problem, contact technical support at www.netgear.com/support.

https://kb.netgear.com/24328/What-should-I-do-if-the-power-LED-on-my-Nighthawk-router-is-off-or-blin....

Please update me with the outcome of this.

Hi fieeug,

Have you tried what I have mentioned earlier in this thread? If not then please proceed with the step.

That KB article mentions "recovery instructions", but does not
provide a link to any.

There is a last-ditch/emergency TFTP recovery scheme:

      https://kb.netgear.com/22688/

I know nothing, but some reports here suggest that, on Windows, the
built-in command-line TFTP client works better than the "tftp2.exe"
program shown there.

To enable the built-in command-line TFTP client on Windows 10:

Settings > Apps > (Related settings) Programs and Features >
Turn Windows features on or off : TFTP Client

Or, if you can find a Control Panel, then:

Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features
on or off : TFTP Client

No it did not work. I have a Mac the latest version of High Sierra.
Thanks.

Ok.  (An actual version number would be more precise than whatever
"the latest" might mean to you today, however.)

> No it did not work.

"did not work" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say
what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.

Re: Nighthawk 7500v2 white power light blinking and network name not found

I downloaded this tftp2 program, I connected my router to my PC using the network cable.
I did not set static IP, instead I just run the ipconfig and check for the values configured as IP and broadcast, the same values where configured at the client server tab in this tftp2 program. Previously I had downloaded the latest firmware version from netgear, the path is needed by this program and once all those details are populated you just click run and it took less than 15sec for the router to recover and keep the power led and others operating normal.
Thx!
Hope this helps!

In journalism, this is called "burying the lead", but thanks for the
update with the good news.
