Nighthawk AC1750 R6700 Network map

Nighthawk AC1750 R6700 firmware V1.2.8_10.0.53 Windows 10 Pro Home network, I am seeing too many wired connections to my router they are unidentified in Genie or the router login. They all start with DEV- and 3 hex numbers separated by colons. It shows 5 wired connections in addition to the correct ones that are identified. The router only has 4 ports for wired devices and I see 8 devices according to Genie and the router login.

Re: Nighthawk AC1750 R6700 Network map

What else do you have hooked up to your network?

A network switch?

Wireless extender?

A device running virtual pc's?

NAS running docker with VM's?

You didn't give us much info on the setup of your network or whats running.

the device list isn't always the most accurate with wired/wireless based on how things are hooked into the network.

Windows PC Dell WiredThrough a 4 port hub

Re: Nighthawk AC1750 R6700 Network map

again, it could be any of those devices too. When I was running freenas, it'd pull a seperate IP and mac for my VM running plex within it.

Easy test? write down the mac, unplug all the devices from the router, shut off the wireless, and reboot. Then slowly hook things back up like switch, computer, etc. When that mac joins again, you can see what on your network it is.
