Nighthawk AC1900 WIFI much slower than wired...HELP
I have a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900. We bought it 6 months ago and have had no issues until now. Our internet provider is TWC and we are paying for 30Mbps. When I plug my Xbox One or my laptop in I get my full internet speed. I've tested a wired connection multiple times and its correct. However, when I disconnect my laptop and connect through Wifi the speed test shows it ranging from 1.5Mbps to 9Mbps and everywhere in between. I updated to the new firmware and nothing changed. I did a factory reset and nothing changed. I downgraded the firmware to version V22.214.171.124_1.1.20 suggested by someone else in this forum and nothing changed. I contacted Netgear Support to return this unit under warranty but they say its not a hardware issue. They say its the wireless settings but wont do anything unless I pay, which I wont and cant do. Like I said, we've had this router for a very short time and it was running fine up until now. I did not change anything for this to happen, we just noticed that using Wifi on the laptop, our phones, and our ipad it had to buffer numerous times which was not a problem before. That's what started me down this road. Can someone please help me?

You could try a LAN-LAN speed test using something like NetStress or iPerf, this would help rule out any NAT/Internet lag issues. If you do manage to perform a LAN-LAN test and still find the results disappointing, then you could repeat the same test at a completely different location e.g. a relative’s house, just to see if there’s some environmental (interference) issue.
