Nighthawk AC1900 intermittent drops offline

My AC1900 R7000 has been connected to a new fiber modem with 200/200 upload/downloads.
I use it heavily and WiFi only.
It has been intermittently dropping offline where I have to pull up my app and reboot the router.
I am considering upgrading to a better model and wondered if there is a good recommendation to fix this issue or what would be a good upgrade for this? TIA

Do you have screen snips of the errors/problems you're running into? 

I frequently use the browser to update.

What fibre ont/gateway is it connected to? 

What firmware is on the R7000?

It is connected to a iphotonix 7278g

The AC1900 R7000 is rev V1.0.9.88

There's newer firmware for the R7000 you could try. 

Its currently on 1.0.11.130

Try installing that and doing a factory reset/reinstall. (don't use a backup)

The Nighthawk app says there is no update available. Now the website says there is. I tried doing the update manually via the web but it doesn't work like it should and the website says to use the app. I guess I will just limp along

Did you follow this to manually update FW on the router using a wired PC and web browser?
