Nighthawk D7000 drops Lenovo Thinkpad E525 connection but retains Apple MacBook Pro
My D7000 Nighthawk connects without problem using Wi-fi to an Apple MacBook Pro and other apple products (iPhone, iPad AppleTV but it very frequently appears to drop the connection to an elderly Lenovo ThinkPad running Windows 10. The connection is automatically restored after a few minutes but the gets dropped again. The ThinkPad works perfectly if a different router is used instead of the Netgear.
any suggestions what I could try to fix the problem?
thank you!

That's a "v1". I have no real wisdom on your problem, but there is
a newer firmware version available, which might be worth trying.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.
