Nighthawk(R) X4S R7800 My HP laptop won't show me my wifi signal
Good day everyone!
Maybe this is a minor issue, but i can't tell.
My work laptop, i brought home to use, it's a HP laptop.
If won't recognize my wifi signal. All my other devices at home recognize my wifi signal, that i have given a name to.(home laptop, smartphone, tablet etc) It does, however, recognize all the other wifi signals in my building including even restaurants from across the street. If the laptop recognizes all other signals in the neighborhood...then i'm led to believe that the nighthawk (isn't sending a signal to the HP laptop?? sounds weird..and not logical) after all,,all my other devices recognize my wifi signal and work fine..
Very confusing..any ideas are highly appreciated. Thank you

Taking a wild guess here, but the Router is putting out European channels. Possible the HP doesn't work on those?
Check the spec's on the HP's network adapter. See if it works on the channels you have. If you can change the channel to one the HP can use that should fix it for you...
If on Windows, get Acrylic, https://www.acrylicwifi.com/en/downloads-free-license-wifi-wireless-network-software-tools/download-..., it will show you all the bands the HP can see and data about them such as strength. Possible on the same channel there is a stronger signal even? That too would show the channels the HP can see that was as well. If there are others that it can see in the same channel your router is broadcasting, then I'm clearly wrong. If the scale doesn't even show the channels you are broadcasting, then that is the problem.
Currently, the HP Laptop recognizes every wifi signal in range. All my neighbors
Doesn't tell me much....
What is the MODEL number of the HP Laptop...
Does your European router put out the SAME CHANNEL numbers that the HP sees?
