Nighthawk R7000 Dropping Connection Wired and Wireless

I've had a Nighthawk R7000 given to me.  I'm not sure what version it is and don't know how to tell, but on firmware 1.0.9.64 and the newest 1.0.11.100, the connection drops constantly.  I've seen other threads on this issue that span over many years with no fix.  Some have said that newer versions don't have this issue.  How can I find out what version I have?  I don't have the original packaging.

when you log into the router, the status page will have the firmware version.

I'd recommend installing version 1.0.9.42. factory reset the router and then reinstall it for your own setup.
