Nighthawk R7000 Netgear Genie to recover admin password does not work

I am following the procedures provided by Netgear to recover my admin password. However, the "continue" button does not show or is very faint and I can't get the next screen to advance after entering my answers for the security questions. Does anyone have a fix? I've used IE, Edge and Chrome browsers and getting same results.

Unfortunately, Netgear gives the same name to multiple ways to access router. There is the genie app on a mobile device and then the is the genie when you connect to the router via a browser. So lets start there, which are you using?  

 

In any case, it is probably going to come down to having to reset the router and start configure from scratch.

Odd, I went ahead and reset the router settings to factory default but the password did not reset. It does not allow me to us "password' as the default once back to factory settings.

   Then it's not being reset to the default settings.  "password" is the
default "admin" password.

   How, exactly, did you do thie reset operation?  Did the LED
indicators do interesting things?  You might also try disconnecting all
the data lines, and trying the reset again.

   _Which_ "the procedures provided by Netgear"?

   Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for "Factory Settings".

That to me says you really did not reset the router. If reset it would be like out of the box except for the firmware version. Firmware version would be what ever was currenly on the router. 

 

Read the manual about resetting. I needs to be held in for a period of time. Here is link to user manual
