Nighthawk R7500 LAN Connection Slow but WAN Not

I just got a new router (I think it is the v1 but not sure), and when I connect my computer over the LAN I get about 20 Mbps down. If I connect over the 5GHz network, I get 100+ Mbps (which is was I am supposed to be getting from my ISP). I noticed the problem when I tried to stream something in 720p and I noticed some glitches (sound and video) while gaming.

Things I have tried:
-Changing ports
-Bypassing router (plugging directly into the modem, got 100 Mb down)

-Updated Firmware to v1.0.0.94

-Factory reset (multiple times)

-QoS disabled

-Netgear Genie app disabled "High Traffic Threshold"

-Used speedtest.net and fast.com to test connection, both gave similar reults

-Restarted modem (multiple times)

I am out of ideas and ready to send the router back, can anyone help?

If this is a R7500 V1 send it back.  The V1 is end of life and only the V2 is supported.

Have you tried different Ethernet cables?

Have you tried resetting it by pressing in the reset button on the back for at least 10 seconds until the power light turned orange and started to blink?

Re: Nighthawk R7500 LAN Connection Slow but WAN Not

I have not tried another cable, I checked the cable connecting the direct modem approach and the cable is labeled as a CAT6 cable. I have been using the cable before with my old router getting the 100+ Mbps. So I don't think that is the problem.

I have tried resetting it to the factory setting multiple times and that didn't seem to help.

How do I check to see if it is a v1 or v2?

Also thanks for responding.

Did you enable the "block sites" feature?  That also will hurt speed.

I would also try a different LAN port on the router.

It's worth trying a different cable even if you are pretty sure the old one is good.

Block sites isn't enabled either. I will try different ports (so far I have tried 1 and 2) but if all ports don't work it is going back.

I think I might just send it back and assume a bad apple.

The thing is with the R7500, you can spend just a little bit more and get the R7800 or you can spend a bit less and get a R7000.  I think you would win either way.
