Nighthawk R7900P setup as Access Point - Cannot access/view/ping any clients that are on it

Nighthawk R7900P  | Firmware Version: V1.3.0.8_1.2.1 - With the router setup as an Access point, cannot access/view/ping any of the clients that are on it from the rest of the network. However, from a client on the Access Point, can ping other clients that are on the main network. Client on Access Point can also access the internet fine. Access Point is viewable on the main network and can be accessed/managed from either a client on the Access Point or the main network (using static ip configured below).

- tried both methods to Setup router as Access Point:

--- (1) did manual setup and connected regular LAN port to gateway router

--- (2) setup via Access Point option on NETGEAR Genie and connected WAN port to gateway router

- for all setups,

-- on Access Point:

--- manually set static IP on Access Point (192.168.1.2)

--- disabled DHCP

-- on Gateway Router:

--- DHCP pool set from x.x.1.101 - 1.150

Am I missing a configuration item? Please help!! Thanks in advance!!

Be safe,

Sonny

<sheepish look> okay... don't mind me... it was Windows Firewall setting on Device B... that was still turned On even though it was configured as a private network... ugh... it's the little things that trip us up.

So, as soon as I allowed Inbound connections on Private Profile, can ping/access/view Device B now. *sigh*

On a good note... way faster wireless speeds now on new router!! Yay!!

   Ok.

Ok.  So, every device has an IP address on the "192.168.1.*" subnet?

Really?  So, if, say, Device-A is at "192.168.1.110" on the main
router, and Device-B is at "192.168.1.120" on the R7900P access point,
then you're saying that from Device-B, "ping 192.168.1.110" works; but
from Device-A, "ping 192.168.1.120" fails?  I don't see how that can
happen.

Does it matter if a device has a wired or wireless connection to the
router or access point?
