Nighthawk R7960P V1.4.1.50_1.3.10 Not Updating
For the sake of recording this horrendous FW version I will post I have the same issue as well.
R7960P router
Been set to auto update since I got it. Recently was in the GUI because we have had several internet issues. The third band, 5G-2, will intermittently work. Currently I can’t get it to broadcast no matter what I do.
1. Tried the built in update feature, didn’t work.
2. Tried to manually update to .68, didn’t work.
3. Tried to update every other version newer and older but didn’t work.
4. Tried to paper clip reset, didn’t work. Just rebooted.
5. Reset in GUI, reset worked but still stuck at FW after initial setup tried to upgrade.
6. Paper clip reset router, worked. But still at broken FW after setup.
7. Tried manual updates and bhilt in update function again, still doesn’t work.
While my warranty is expired, Netgear bricked my router before the year was up and is responsible for this and needs to finally take ownership for their issue.
I will be going to Costco this week in hopes of replacing this defected router with another brand if Netgear doesn’t wake up and take ownership.
