Nighthawk R800P 1.4.2.84_1.3.42
When I updated to 1.4.2.84_1.3.42 I had trouble accessinmg most web sites. Is there a current form of Firmware that actually works? I am put off by Netgear not dealing directly with me on this becasue router is greater than 90 days old!

Re: Nighthawk R800P 1.4.2.84_1.3.42
Some were able to get it working fine by simply enabling IPv6.
Some needed to downgrade firmware a version (or 2).
Try the IPv6 and see if that works.

IPV6 is already enabled. Has Netgear ever addressed this issue?

And did the downgrade work?
Understandable to be frustrated in netgear. But we're not netgear. This is the public help forum where members of the public help out.

Re: Nighthawk R800P 1.4.2.84_1.3.42
Greetings @jhwy ,
Downgrade to 1.4.1.68.
I've thoroughly tested 1.4.2.84 update from unmodified 1.4.1.68, with and without IPv6 enabled/disabled. Its flawed. DNS resolution is broken. Don't waste your time.
Wait for a hotfix or for the next release.

Thanks. I think that update came out last August and they still haven't fixed and they don't tell people about the flaw. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: Nighthawk R800P 1.4.2.84_1.3.42
Pretty simple.
You download the firmware you'd like from the support site and extract it.
then follow the manual firmware update process but use the firmware you downloaded.
https://kb.netgear.com/23960/How-do-I-manually-update-the-firmware-on-my-NETGEAR-router
(to get older version go to the downloads section for the router, then click on "+view previous versions")
