On Netgear website R8500 Firmware Version 1.0.2.136 is listed as the latest one.
From the router using Firmware Update Assistant it indicates 1.0.2.144 is the latest.
Is there any latest wisdom on updating firmware on this particular router?
Thank you all.

Is there any wisdom to it? sure, it fixes security vulnerabilities.
But its not something you have to do if you don't want to.
Netgear even allows you to downgrade back to an older version (manually) if the newer one causes issues.
so maybe make a backup configuration and update. If it stinks, then downgrade.

Re: Nighthawk R8500_100NAS Firmware
Updated using Firmware Update Assistant it indicates 1.0.2.144 is the latest. No ill effects found.
As I said it is a puzzle why NETGEAR does not post the latest firmware on their website.
Best router I ever owned.
Most arrogant support I ever got..
Did anybody tried to change email address in their profile. That is a treat as well.
Mind as well open new account, if I wish to continue with this forum. As with most forums there are smarter people here than technical support could ever provide.
