Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Model R9000

My Nighthawk has worked flawlessly until today. Only certain devices are allowing internet service to be connected through the router. Also, the Netgear app is random regarding whether it’s shoing the internet online or not. When attempting to connect to my flatscreen, it’s saying that I’m connected to local network but can’t connect to the internet. Help.

Are these wifi connections?

Is this one of those devices that likes to update its firmware automatically?

You could try a factory reset to see if it restores sanity.

Try saving and restoring the settings before and after the flash. If the problems persist, reset and don't restore.

Yes, wifi connections. I utilized a factory restart and that worked for 24 hours. Then, it would allow some of my devices to connect. Now, it won't allow any devices to connect (I can connect into the modem/router supplied by Spectrum though: no issues with internet). I can't figure this issue out.

To avoid confusion, so you mean "factory reset" rather than factory restart, the trick with a pointy thing in the hole in the back?

A simple restart leaves the thing as is.

Great question. I held the button in for 60 seconds (in the hole in the back of the router with a pointy pen).

Hi Neesewj80,

What is the firmware version of the router?

Re: Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Model R9000 - How to reset router login password

Hi, Want to download the new firmware.  I can login to the myNetgear account but not the router.  Reset option is not available. How does this get fixed?  Thanks.

> [...] Want to download the new firmware. [...]

What's stopping you, the download part or the installation part?

You've appended your new question to a months-old thread on a
different topic.  Starting your own new thread would have made more
sense.

> [...] I can login to the myNetgear account but not the router.

You don't need to deal with "myNetgear" for a firmware update.

"can [...] not" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say
what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for "Types of Logins".

> [...] Reset option is not available.

Sure it is.  Look in the User Manual for "Factory Settings".

For the actual update, visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your
model number, and look for Downloads.  (For older versions, under
Firmware and Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)
Find the kit(s).  Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release
Notes" file for instructions.

Re: Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Model R9000 - How to reset router login password

Same issue here. Purchased in May 2018 bc I had 27 connections and with the cable company router, my speeds were trash. X10 solves that problem and everything was fine until 3 weeks ago. All of a sudden, 2 out of my 3 Samsung Tv’s say “connected locally but can’t access the internet.” My Directv genie DVR wot connect and neither will my Canary WiFi security cameras. Everything else works and connects without issue. I tried connect camera with Ethernet cable from router and had same connection issue. I then connected the camera via Ethernet directly from modem and it worked fine, so I know it’s a router issue. I was also able to connect the Samsung tv to WiFi via a hotspot from my cell phone.
