Nighthawk X4S - MAC address passed to ISP is for our hardwired Samsung TV, not router
Our newish internet (about 6 weeks old) was working fine with our router until two days again. Suddenly there was no internet.
Comcast came out today and spent two hours working on it. What they discovered is that our Samsung TV, when hardwired to our router via ethernet, was having it's MAC address passed along, which is what Comcast was seeing instead of our router's MAC address. Which results in no internet. We swapped out router for an identical one, same problem.
Work around for now is we have a loaner router from Comcast, TV is on wireless instead of hardwired, and that works. btw, our PS4 is also hardwired and there are no issues with that. We would like our TV to be connected to router via ethernet as there is a significantly better experience than via wireless. Thanks!

You could run the nighthawk router in AP mode behind the Comcast modem to use it for better wifi.
