Nighthawk X6 R8000 Wifi Issue
I'm trying to tackle this issue for some time, but am unable to do so.
I have an R8000 router where WiFi is not working from time to time.
I have a perfect connection (all bars), but pages, movies are not loaded. (little circle keeps rotating on iPad)
Also games, movies are indicating that no internet connection is available. The suddenly after some time it works again.
It seems to be a Wifi issue since I never have these issues with my cable connected desktop.
I have tried two setups, described below.
Some info about my setup since it might differ a little bit from a regular setup,
Router 1 is connected to cable-modem (Ethernet cable is about 50cm long)
Running the latest FW : V18.104.22.168_10.1.63
From the router an ethernet (cat-5) cable goes to the second floor in my house to another R8000 in Port-Forward mode (same latest FW level). Both have the same SSID, but different Wifi channels.
Router 1 has IP 192.168.1.1
Router 2 has IP 192.168.1.2
DHCP is set to hand out addresses from 192.168.1.10 and Router 1 is the DHCP server.
5Ghz is switched off, only 2.4Ghz is used. (can't change the wifi settings anymore due to continuous, and annoying (This DFS channel is not allowed to use because the Radar was detected before. You can change another channel or wait) messages.
This setup as described below also shows the problematic behavior.
What I also tried (since Netgear advises to use different Wifi setting) is to use the Netgear Extender X6S Mesh extender instead of the second R8000 router.
The Mesh extender has also a fixed IP address (192.168.1.5).
So same setup but the second R8000 has been switched off.
Link builds up perfectly, but same issue, I would say it got worse when using the extender.
IPV6 has been disabled.
Long story, hope you have tips to improve...
