Nighthawk X6 R8000 compatible with ExpressVPN ?

Is my Nighthawk X6 R8000 compatible with ExpressVPN ?

I've checked everywhere including the ExpressVPN site.

They only show firmware up to the R7000.

The R8000 supports openVPN.

I'm not tech stupid, but I tried to use OpenVPN and it was a little too complex for me.
Even if I had no problem getting it running, it is not user friendly at all.
I just hope that ExpressVPN gets with the program. R8000 is not brand new. They got up to R7000 quite a while ago. Frustrating.
