Nighthawk X6S AC3600 Tri-Band WiFi Router Wireless Advance Settings not working

After updated the router to latest firmware v1.4.1.68_1.3_28, feature "Turn off wireless signal by schedule" is no longer working. I have both 2.4GHZ and 5GHz-2 wire access point turned on. On the 5GHz-2 access porint, I set it to turn off 11:30pm and back on 8:00am. Pror to the update, that worked fine. But after the update, the 5GHz would turn off and stay off. If I turn off the schedule and left it on, it worked fine.

Anyboy had issues with this?

Thanks,

LP

Is this the R7960P? AC3600 is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?

New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.

So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.

You can reduce the hassle of reconfiguring all those settings by creating a backup of your settings before you reset. Then if something is still broken after the reset, and the new firmware has not fixed it, you can restore the device to its pre-reset state.

You could even try restoring the settings even if the new firmware has fixed the problems, but be prepared for the restore to also bring back your problems.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure if I want to reset the router even though I had configuration backed up. I just want to use it w/o messing around possibly making it worse. It is dsiappointing to know that Netgear didn't do their testing to ensure this is not going to happen. On a non related issue with Netgear was checking for firmware updates on the router itself. Couple of versions back, I had to manually download and update it. It reminds me of Apple iOS products such as iPhone, iPad, etc.. Anyway, Thanks for your input.
