Nighthawk and Vectored VDSL

1 Aug century link in my area went to vectored vdsl.  My modem stopped working. The modem wont even recognize a DSl cable plugged into the port. Century link came out, popped one of their modems on the line and viola, it works just fine.

1 Simple Question:

1. Is Netgear going to figure this out and push a frimware update to fix the problem?

I would much rather be on my nighthawk than this horrible router.

Re: Nighthawk and Vectored VDSL

The chances are slim that Netgear will change its strategy and support different flavours of DSL, especially on older hardware. This is partly because ISPs are making it increasingly difficult for people to use third party modems. They want to take control over our lives.

One thing you could investigate is the possibility of putting the Century link device into modem only (bridge) mode and using the D7000 as the router.

See the section Set Up the Modem Router for Cable or Fiber Service in the manual somewhere at the end of this link:

>>> D7000 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
