Nighthawk r7800 compatibility

Hello community,

i have a nighthawk 7800 router. In a few days I will be upgrading my modem to att bgw210 modem. Will my router work with this new modem?

I wouldn't see why not.  Do a search on at&t bgw210 modem compatibility

here is a link for the Manual on that Modem https://fccid.io/PGRBGW210/Users-Manual/User-Manual-3205200.pdf

I'm with @aa3815ea. It should work.

But, from that manual, your new modem is also a router. For the sake of your sanity, and for easier network management, if it is possible, you may want to put the modem into modem only (bridge) mode.

If that is not possible, then you may want to put the R7800 into access point mode.

Re: Nighthawk r7800 compatibility

Easily overlooked. I mentioned it only because we see a lot of questions here from people who have hit a wall when they try to get two routers running on the same network. Life gets complicated.

One problem, and one that I have come across myself, is that some Internet service providers deliver modem/routers that you cannot put into bridge mode.

It is a pity that the R7800 does not have the option to run as a wifi bridge.
