Nighthawk x10 R9000 - Compatible External Hard drive

I recently purchased a 10 TB Wd Easystore external hard drive and attempted to connect to my NightHawk X10 (R9000) via USB drive. The router did not recognize the drive. I'm not sure if i have to make the drive compatible with the router or vise versa, hence why i'm here asking you all. I have a Mac so i already formatted the hard drive to fit my Mac, but thats about it. How do i get my router to read my hard drive?

Thanks in advance.

To bad, this might cause the issue. What file system had you selected during this process? exFAT or AFP (Apple File System) would both not supported. The default NTFS would have been OK for the router, but not writeable direct on macOS (but OK over the network). Remains just HFS+.

Do you need portability - read USB direct attach storage on the Mac and on the router?
