Nighthawk x6 R8000 firmware upgrade and Tivo
I'm unclear about the notes on the latest firmware upgrade for this router, excerpted as follows: "
Current Firmware Version 220.127.116.11 New Firmware Version 18.104.22.168_10.1.63 Release Notes: 1. [Warning] Note that starting with this firmware release (V22.214.171.124), the following features are no longer supported: iTunes Server, Kwilt Photosharing, DLNA, Time Machine Backup, TiVo support for media sharing, and the Downloader feature (which was in beta). If you want to continue using these features, do not update the firmware. 2. [New Features and Enhancements] Supports NETGEAR Armor 3. [New Features and Enhancements] Removes the following features: iTunes Server, Downloader, Time Machine, Kwilt, DLNA and TiVo
What does this mean for my TiVo Bolt? My signal paths are as follows:
1 (Cable) Cable/Internet modem --> via coax to TiVo Bolt --> TV
2 (Internet) Cable/Internet modem --> via ethernet cable to Router --> all wired and wireless devices
Concern: the TiVo is also connected via ethernet so that it can retrieve program schedules, access menus for Netflix, etc., and connect to YouTube.
Does this upgrade stop the TiVo from communicating with the internet via the router?
What exactly is the impact?
Any suggestions for a workaround?
Replace the TiVo with another DVR?
Replace the router?
I need some help understanding this.
Our cable company just dropped video on demand via TiVo also. Is there a technical problem with TiVo, or is this a licensing fight?

(Be sure to skip past the misinformation in the middle there. That
fellow so enjoys griping about Netgear that from time to time he gets
carried away, leaving reality behind.)
