Nighthawk x6 r7850 - 5G Connection issue

Hope you are all doing well.


I got this new router today, 

Model:Nighthawk X6 R7850 

Firmware: V1.0.5.58_10.1.71

Wireless Network (2.4GHz b/g/n) - Channel Auto

Wireless Network (5GHz a/n/ac)

5GHz-1 - Channel 48

5GHz-2 - Channel 153

Tried all combinations what ever I do 5GHz-1 network speed does not cross 1mbps.

where as on 2.4 & 5ghz-2 I get close to 100 mbps .


Spent around 2 hours of troubleshooting with support team, they even sent me a RMA but still the same experience. any ideas/suggestions

You've already had the router replaced and are having the same issue?

What device are you testing on? 

Do you have any other devices? 

Have you tried downgrading the firmware? maybe its a firmware issue. 

CM2000-> RAX200-> GS716v2-> EX8000

I tried on Mac, Windows, Samsung phone & Iphone.  Also of them same results. I first tried with the base version of the firmware that came up with device, then updated to latest, in all cases same results. So I am hoping someone in the community can help or Netgear Tech team can research
