No QoS in AP mode

Running 2 R7000s in AP mode to cover 2 floors of a large home, one on the 1st floor one in the lower level. They run behind a VPN Firewall router.
In AP mode it seems I can not access the QoS tab, it is grayed out.
Is this a normal default?
Anyway to optimize traffic in AP mode?
I see the WMM is enabled is this the same?
Does Netgear have a list of R7000 features that are loss in AP mode?
Thanks
Ralph

A Web search for terms like, say:
netgear router ap features
should find a document like:
https://kb.netgear.com/26765/
The following router features are not available (grayed out) when
the router is in AP mode:
[...]
o QoS
[...]
> Anyway to optimize traffic in AP mode?
That's a router function, not an AP function.
