Hi Netabc123,

Just confirm that reset has been done after the update?

How many devices are affected?

I did the Factory Reset on FW V1.0.9.18_1.2.27, but it didn't work. An hour after applying the factory reset the 2.4G devices started falling off. I've noticed also that the "Attached Devices" list is missing all the 2.4G devices and a few of the 5G devices as well. I've also got devices connected to the internet that appear to be working but don't show in the "Attached Devices" list from the routers GUI.

I'm running Smart Connect Wifi so my 2.4G and 5G are on the same SSID. I'm also running QoS if that makes a difference.

I want to also confirm that V1.0.9.14_1.2.25 doesn't fix the 2.4ghz drop issue. Started experiencing this sometime in November, not sure exactly when because router is configured to automatically install updates. 2.4g has never been stable since, requires power cycle, finally tried hardware reset and it dropped again after ~12 hours of use.

Can anyone confirm a last known good firmware version? I've read 1.0.7.12. Are there any others you have reverted to and has worked well?

Please keep in mind that downgrading could make you vulnerable to other issues and may cause a security weakness.

Then you might have 2.4Ghz working, but you also might get unwanted visitors.

Just saying.

Re: No more 2.4 Wifi on R7000 Nighthawk after V1.0.9.14_1.2.25 update

I updated from v1.0.7.10_1.2.3 to v1.0.9.14_1.2.25. One of my 2.4 GHz wi-fi devices started to be disconnected.

I downgraded back to v1.0.7.10_1.2.3, made a hard reset and restored my saved settings (from 1.0.7.10_1.2.3).

So far NO problems with 2.4 GHz (2 days non-stop usage/monitoring)!

@user05

So, .3 seems to be a serious option, especially with being able to roll back the config.

Good news!

Re: No more 2.4 Wifi on R7000 Nighthawk after V1.0.9.14_1.2.25 update

My fix I implemented has been solid for over a week, and I was dropping many times a day initially-

No factory resets, no downgrading firmware, just some looking into the settings.

Here is what I did-

Don't enable Smart Connect

Disable the SSID Broadcast of the 2.4 band. (currently testing to see if this is necessary)

Disable the 20/40 MHz Coexistence

Set channel manually (I picked 5, but currently testing to see if this is necessary)

I also have a 2.4 Guest SSID, it was dropping along with the 2.4 band originally, I didn't make any changes on that, and it has not experienced any drops since making the above changes to my main 2.4 SSID.

See if this works for you folks, if it does, here is a link to my GoFundMe.

Maybe if this fixes the issue for more than just myself, Netgear can just make a full $ amount donation for all the time/effort/lost customers I would have just saved them.
