Ookla different speed results

My internet was recently updated to 200 Mbps.

When I connect my laptop (wired) to the cable modem (Arris SB6183) I get speeds of around 240 Mbps at https://speedtest.net.

When I use the same speedtest on the QOS admin screen on my R8000 the highest I can get it is 199 Mbps.

Anybody having an idea why there is such a huge difference between the two Ookla speedtests?

Thank you

Welcome to the community, @Urdypooh

Do you have the latest firmware update on your router?

How many times you have tried testing the speed?

Re: Ookla different speed results

I had tried it about 5 or 6 time at different hours.

And yes. I have the latest firmware on my router.

Re: Ookla different speed results

Did you try to factory reset

If you did, is this also happening on previous firmware version?

Re: Ookla different speed results

Will a factory reset help? The problem with that solution is that I have nothing configured apart from the SSID, the access passwords and me having enabled QOS.

And no. I have not tried previous firmware because the new internet speed came with the new firmware. (With the former firmware and the speed of 150 Mbps it was shown  ok in both speedtests.)

Most of the time resetting the unit helps. So, I suggest that give it a try.
