OpenVPN issue - Nighthawk R7900; Firmware - V22.214.171.124_10.0.32;
I am trying to setup Surfshark VPN using openvpn on my windows 10 machine.
Router - Nighthawk; Firmware- V126.96.36.199_10.0.32
When I connect to OpenVPN GUI client. I receive this error at the end.
Sun Dec 08 14:40:48 2019 us=793200 OpenSSL: error:140AB18ESL routinesSL_CTX_use_certificate:ca md too weak
Sun Dec 08 14:40:48 2019 us=793200 MANAGEMENT: Client disconnected
Sun Dec 08 14:40:48 2019 us=793200 Cannot load certificate file client.crt
Sun Dec 08 14:40:48 2019 us=793200 Exiting due to fatal error
It is my understanding that netgear firmware V188.8.131.52_10.0.32 was using moved sha256 instead of md.
My OpenVPN windows verison is openvpn-install-2.4.8-I602-Win10
Has anyone else experience and resolved this issue?
Thanks in advance!

I have the exact same issue -- I read a post in my hours of searching for a solution indicating that this router (R7900) uses MD5, not SHA256 so OpenVPN won't connect to it because the protocol is insecure. That post was from 2018. @netgear can you please comment on this and not leave us hanging?
