OpenVPN on Linux

Hi,

I'm trying to connect to Netgear's R7000 OpenVPN server on Debian Jessie, but everytime I try to run:

sudo openvpn --config client2.conf

being clien2.conf the configuration file given by the router, I get:

...
Fri Jun 19 09:58:59 2015 us=49374 Initialization Sequence Completed
wRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwRwR...

and it just stays there...

If I try to ping one of the remote network hosts I get something like this:

$ ping 10.0.0.4
PING 10.0.0.4 (10.0.0.4) 56(84) bytes of data.
From x.x.x.x icmp_seq=1 Packet filtered

I'm able to connect (and ping) just fine on Windows 7 and the OpenVPN GUI.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance,
André.

Re: OpenVPN on Linux

I too have been trying to get an openvpn connection between my R7000 router and Ubuntu 14.04.  It seems that according to Netgear Linux is NOT supported as a client.  See the following:
