Orbi AX600 plus nighthawk ac2600 switch off wifi
Hi, I have a Nighthawk X4s Ac2600 modem/router, but lacked wifi in some parts of the house, so just installed Orbi AX6000 (2 satellites), I've changed Orbi to AP, but wifi still available from the AC2600. How do I switch off Wifi from this (Logging in to netgear login no longer shows Ac2600 info, only Orbi)?
Be gentle, I'm not the most technical so may be missing the obvious!
Many thanks

None of that is a model number. Look for "Model" on the product
label.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.
Look for the LED descriptions. Pay particular attention to something
like a "WiFi On/Off button with LED". Further reading might not hurt,
either.
In addition to the button, I'd expect there to be an option like
"Enable Wireless Router Radio" (for each radio) hidden somewhere among
the ADVANCED settings.

Power off the Orbi, and connect a device to the "Ac2600" (whatever it
is)?

Re: Orbi AX600 plus nighthawk ac2600 switch off wifi
Thanks, Model is D7800-100UKS.
Will try switching off Orbi.
I had (I thought) disabled wifi in the router settings for the D7800 online in the router wifi page, prior to switching on the orbi. There doesn't seem to be a button/switch of any kind on the router.

Apologies Antinode,
Found wifi on/off button, looks just like all the other LED lights on the front, and hadn't realised it was a button rather than just another LED!

With my weak psychic powers, I can't see the LEDs or the settings on
that device.

Did you? Apparently not. In the D7800 User Manual, it's called
"WiFi On/Off button with WiFi LED".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFM
It only _sounds_ radical; it's actually quite a normal thing to do.

The less you read, the more you might miss.

Re: Orbi AX600 plus nighthawk ac2600 switch off wifi
Yes, I did RTFM, which is how I discovered the LED was actually a switch! Much easier than trying to muck about with the settings on the device manager page. Yes, I deserve the comments you made, however, as a non technical lady of a certain age, I was impressed I managed to get it all set up and put the Orbi in AP mode (or was that wrong?) and have it working! TBH I spend my working life advising on infectious diseases and outbreaks, but know F*** all about networks and setting them up. I will endeavour to ensure I have RTFM in future, before asking stupid questions!

Re: Orbi AX600 plus nighthawk ac2600 switch off wifi
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AX (WiFi 6) products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi AX and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Thank you.

Thanks, I managed to switch off WIFI, so problem solved, but helpful to know about the AX orbi forum for any future issues (though fingers crossed that I won't need it ).
