Packet loss on R9000
I have a Netgear R9000, and I am getting frequent packet drops on all devices across my LAN. I cannot connect to the Internet with HTTP or Xbox Live gaming service when I am experiencing a dropped connection. The connection seems to restore itself after a brief period of time. Meanwhile, there are other network devices that can still stream video on the local network. An example of the network connection from one computer via wired Ethernet is in the link:
Network Topology:
- ISP: Comcast Xfinity, measured 323 Mbps down, 12 Mbps up
- Modem: Netgear CM1200 (V3.12.03 firmware)
- Router: Netgear R9000 (V1.0.5.38 firmware)
- Problem devices: Both wired Ethernet and wireless
Router Settings:
- Dynamic QoS enabled
- Performance Optimization Database enabled
- Using Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4)
- Have also tried to use the DNS option of "Get Automatically from ISP"
Issues:
- Frequently can't open a new website page in browser. The error is sometimes "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET".
- Cannot reach the HTML admin pages for the modem or router during this time.
- Flushing the DNS with the command "ipconfig /flushdns" does not solve the issue.
- Using the Windows Network Diagnostics troubleshooting doesn't identify the problem
My network lost connectivity again as I was typing this message. Is there anything else I can try?

Re: Packet loss on R9000
2 things to try.
1. disable qos. It isn't recommended at speeds over 250mbps.
2. enable IPv6.
then reboot your router and the devices connected to it.
Try that for a bit and see how it works.

Re: Packet loss on R9000
Thank you for the response.
My Internet connection cleared up by itself. There have been no packet drops within the last 12 hours. I hate Comcast.
However, I disabled QoS on the router as suggested, and changed the IPv6 Internet Connection Type to Auto Config. Just to be safe.
Thank you for your help.
