Passport Hard Drive Became Corrupted After Disconnecting from R7000

I just set up a Nighthawk R7000 and I'm now researching which drive to use with the USB3 port. To get a feel for things I hooked up My Passport for MAC and then opend ReadyShare. I could see and openall of my existing files and my Time Machine Back up. I tried ejecting the drive from my desktop, but it didn't want to go. So, I just pulled out the USB cable. My Passport became corrupted and I could no longer see it when I tried mounting directly to my MAC. I download some WD utility software and erased the drive to get it back. How do I safely eject this disk from the R7000 without corrupting?

Welcome to the community, @mm9

You can do safely remove from the admin page of the router.

Check out page 79 of the manual.
