Phone Wifi Switches ghz w/R7000
I'm using 2 separate names for 2.4ghz & 5ghz. When I leave the house my galaxy s8+ is using the 5ghz band but when I return it's using 2.4ghz band with my R7000. Can someone tell me why? Using. 88 version. Thanks
Model: R7000|AC1900 Smart WIFI Router

Re: Phone Wifi Switches ghz w/R7000
You've saved both names to your phone.
2.4ghz broadcasts further than 5ghz. So its the first signal it picks up.
Current setup: CAX80->Trendnet TEG-S380->GS716T-> RBK752->pi-hole

Some android devices have the option to prefer 5ghz signals. Or you can just go in and forget the ssid for the 2.4ghz network.
