Prime Video - Error 1044 with R7000

Over the last several days, I've been battling an issue with Prime Video where it will not let me stream content because it says I am connected to a VPN or proxy.  The problem is that I have never used either and had not tinkered with router settings for over a year.

It got interesting when I bypassed the R7000 and hooked up my ISP ethernet to my PC; the problem vanished.  Since then, I've reverted to factory, updated firmware, and anything else I can think of to no avail.

Is anyone else experiencing this or have any idea what my issue might be?  Everything else works perfectly, including Netflix.

   Firmware version?  Connected to what?

What, exactly, does "my ISP ethernet" mean to you?

> [...] and anything else I can think of [...]

Think, for a moment, about how little useful information that
non-description conveys to the non-psychics in your audience.

If your R7000 is configured as a full-function router, and you're
connecting it to some other (modem+)router, then some classes of
problems would not be amazing.

Depending on why you're using the R7000 with whatever you're using it
with, and what that thing is, you might be happier if the R7000 were
configured as a wireless access point.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for "Set Up the Router as
a WiFi Access Point".

"Firmware version?"

Tried many, had no effect.

"What, exactly, does "my ISP ethernet" mean to you?"

The CAT6 ethernet cable that provides internet access to the router, clearly.

"Think, for a moment, about how little useful information that
non-description conveys to the non-psychics in your audience."

OP was meant to be a summary.  Instead of immediately listing every single detail of every troubleshooting method I tried, I figured that information could easily be supplied upon request as I am not sure most of the things I tried were even relevant to my issue.  Snarkiness appreciated, though.

I should have given an overview of my network configuration so you would have known that my router is already set up as a wireless access point, but I thought that would have been assumed.  That's on me.

Anyway, the issue was with the router MAC address and has been solved.  Hopefully this helps anyone else that comes across a similar issue.  Thank you for your time.

Thanks for all the details.  I'll just do a Web search for "many",
then?

Well, duh.  A typical Ethernet cable has two ends.  What's at the
other end if this one?

   I'd say so.

What "issue"?  "solved" how?  I don't see how that fact-free
"summary" could help anyone with anything.

> [...] Thank you for your time.

   No thanks for wasting it.

Oh lawd, go get yourself a hug, man. Life is too short to spend your time acting bitter and petty on a help board.

I'm sorry.  I was only trying to elicit even a little useful
information about what your actual problem might have been, and what
you might have done to solve it.  I can see now that that was a futile
effort.
