R 9000 nighthawk x 10

When I try to connect router to modem, all I get is the 60 Hz light lights up and does not connect to internet.

Re: R 9000 nighthawk x 10

what modem/gateway do you have?

What firmware is on the router?

Are you able to access/use the router hardwired in?

What happened to cause this? Were you rebooting/resetting/moving or did it randomly die?

Did the wifi on/off button get hit? (push and hold it for 2 seconds)

Re: R 9000 nighthawk x 10

I'm not that great at computer stuff. So I connect my laptop from the modem by my wifi. Then plug modem to router then go to counterpoint. I bought this supposedly refurbished. So I'm think I have software error. So any suggestions I will be grateful.

It goes:

Modem----->router------>PC/devices

What modem do you have?

What firmware is on the router?

Arris CM80A. I'm not sure what firmware is on it. Don't know how to check?  Pretty much a rookie in computer and networking

Re: R 9000 nighthawk x 10

I googled the Arris CM80A. And couldn't find one. The top result was actually this post. Are you sure thats your modem?

The firmware is which version is on the R90000.

Is this a new purchase?

Re: R 9000 nighthawk x 10

Either way try this.

Factory reset both the arris and the netgear.

Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds on both while their powered on. Let them reboot.

Then power them both off. unplug everything from both (even coax from modem)

Then connect coax back to modem and power it on. give it several minutes.

Connect lan cable from arris to wan port on router.

power the router on. give it several minutes.

Attempt setup by following the install guide on the r9000
