R6080 2.4ghz signal

I am having problems with the 2.4ghz signal on my R6080.

I can see both the 2.4ghz and 5G signals on my phones wifi list (for example) however each time I attempt to join the 2.4 signal, my phone (or laptop) tells me that it's the wrong password. I can see the password when I log in as the admin and we are entering in the right password.

If I didn't see the signal on my list of available WIFI signals, I would think that it's not transmitting. It is but can't be accessed via the correct password.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Re: R6080 2.4ghz signal

Be sure to clear out any wifi profiles on the wifi devices. Forget current wifi connection. Then try the 2.4Ghz SSID again.

Be sure your not using many special characters on the routers password setting. Try changing the password to somethign simple first, some with 6-8 characters only. Then try to connect.

Try disabling WPA security on the 2.4Ghz radio as a quick test to ensure the devices will connect. Re-enable WPA2 and AES after testing.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for General Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with older routers and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
