Wifi router setup and connecting from my laptop it states internet access but I dont get any url resolution.
Using Netgear Genie I can see the network ok.
Right mouse select the router and then settings it attempts to use browser to the IP address but gets back URL with tc_exist_unit_hijack.htm
I do not know what this is other than something to do with formware updates.
I seem to recall logging in once and getting an update invitation so selected it.
I is now some days later when I tried to use the laptop that the lack of internet became apparent.
I will do a facrtory reset next to see if that resolves this issue.
I had already done a power off on.

OK, another attempt.
Did a reset to factory settings. Same problem.
Did another power off. Left off for 30 minutes. Powered on and
woopee
I got the proper initial administartion screen Im was expecting.
Security settings changed and firmware update completed.
I have no idea why this error came up and why it showed in such a strange manner.
I consider this topic completed.

You might have to allow or deny the future automatic firmware update and the collection of router analytics data before the router will be fully operational again.
PS. I'm not fully sure what is (not) going on in product managers and RD people choosing such a "suspect dangerous" URL path - it's like having smoked from the wrong tree.

Could be down to modem router interaction. You have to reboot these in the right way to get on line.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug the modem.
- Turn off the modem router and computers.
- Plug in the modem and turn it on. Wait 2 minutes.
- Turn on the modem router and wait 2 minutes.
- Turn on the computers.
Out of interest, what modem is in front of this router?
Knowing that might throw more light on the issue for future reference.
