R7000 AC1900 Nighthawk Firmware R7000-V1.0.9.88_10.2.88 is BAD

I thought that the last two firmware updates R7000-V1.0.9.60_10.2.60, and R7000-V1.0.9.60_10.2.64, were bad.  Nothing but problems, so I went back to R7000-V1.0.9.42_10.2.44.  That is the only version that works as it should without any issues.

So I have been waiting for fixes, and still scared to update, because of what I went through before to get my router back up and running.  So this morning I finally installed the latest firmware R7000-V1.0.9.88_10.2.88, thinking it would be better.  I totally regret it.  It took me two hours to  go back to R7000-V1.0.9.42_10.2.44.

Some of the issues I had were:

1) I could not see some of my cameras any more.

2) Could not change device names.

3) Slow navigation in the netgear app.

4) Access controll order is all messed up.

5) Labeled my devices with confusing names and icons.

6) Does not show my extender either.

7) Stops responding for no reason.

8) Now only shows 15 devices of my 24 that always showed before.

I think this new version is terrible.

Did the same thing - rolled it back to rev. 1.0.9.42 but for different reason missing DLNA server tab: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-DLNA/m-p/1778600#M134470

but it took only about 5 mins or so. To expediate the process make simply swap host in al redirected urls to 192.168.0.1/ blah-blah.html
So far have no regrets. Everything is working as expected

You should have regrets! The first 'bad' .60 f/w has a list of fixes, these were KNOWN before any .88 and .64 created problems (and there was a .66 that isn't available now either). Possible even some problems listed as fixed in .64 and .88 were problems before .60 as well. One for sure is SECURITY FIXES, you should have them.

You may never know when the Security Fixes might have been needed, or any other problems fixed.

Similar issues here: some of my cameras (WyzeCam in my case) are not connecting anymore, Roku cannot connect, my external USB 2 drive is not connecting anymore, Chromecast has random issues, other connected devices are not shown, and probably other issues that I have not seen yet.  It all started when I decided to go with the latest Firmware yesterday (Jul 28).  This is very frustrating.

I am not sure which version I had before. Where can I find previous FW versions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip Konstatntin, I should have seen this. I just went back to R7000-V1.0.9.64_10.2.64 and everything seems to be working fine now!

They should remove R7000-V1.0.9.64_10.2.88 and stop suggesting an upgrade that has obviously more issues than fixes.

Same problems ore simular.

I would like to add the following! !
The Guest accounts do not work! I can register a PC / smartphone. I do get a valid IP address but NO internet access! Even when logging in to my regular network where I grant access with access control, the new device does not appear! And yet the device has connection, but no internet access.
Another note: If I want to change a name on the Acccess check in the Divice name page and go to Edit, there is NOTHING anymore in the field. The names disappear and also changes disappear ??? In short, NOT happy with this firmware version!
