R7000 - Corrupted settings
I had this problem that after a reboot all my settings would revert back to the default factory settings. When I tried to update the firmware to the latest one, I always got the message 'invalid firmware'.
To troubleshoot the device I put it in DEV mode through the debug.htm page, and enabled telnet. In a telnet session I did 'nvram show' and I noticed that some of the values were completely garbled, for instance the board_id. I then started playing around with the different burn commands to check for corruption, and to set the correct (?) values. Following values were corrupt and changed to a different setting:
hw_rev: MP1 (I just guessed a value here)
sw_feature: 1 (I just guessed a value here)
sn: I burned the serial number I found on my R7000 unit.
Some of the values were empty, or showed what it seems correct values so I left them as is.
After a reboot I could flash the latest stockfirmware, but still after a reboot (sometimes) all my settings are lost.
I also tried flashing dd-wrt which succeeded but showed the same problem: after a reboot al my settings were back to stock. I then reverted back to the official firmware.
My I presume my unit is faulty? Or is there another way to flash my device, since perhaps other settings are corrupt as well?
