Re: R7000 Firmware Changed IP from 192.168.1.1 to 10.0.0.1 see logs

Hi Theophelous,

The router's IP will automatically changed once it detects that it is connected to another router. Check if the modem is a modem and a router as one and might be using the 192.168.1.1 IP which triggers the changing of the IP address of the router to 10.0.0.1.

Re: R7000 Firmware Changed IP from 192.168.1.1 to 10.0.0.1 see logs

If that were true why didn't the IP change immediately when I installed in in June?  The modem is Xfinity brand that is 10.0.0.1 and the R7000 worked fine on 192.168.1.1 for months then the change in October???  It doesn't make sense to me.

Re: R7000 Firmware Changed IP from 192.168.1.1 to 10.0.0.1 see logs

Hi Theophelous,

What is the IP address of the Xfinity modem? This is normal for the NETGEAR routers to change the IP once it detects that it is connected to modem/router with the same IP range. The changes depends on the network setup that you have. If the modem is just a plain modem then it will not change to 10.0.0.1.
