R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

I downloaded and applied the recent firmware update V1.0.7.6_1.1.99.  All seemed to go well, except after logging on to the router, the older version is still shown as V1.0.4.30_1.1.67 and the I see the firmware upgrade available message Screen Shot 2016-12-13 at 10.33.53 AM.png.  Has anyone see this?  The router is working without issues.

Downloaded again and re-flashed. Now the router screen shows the proper version and no indication of an available update.

My R7000 shows version 1.0.7.6_1.1.99 after flashing the beta firmware.  No indication of an update available and all is working without issue so far.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

I am currently manually downloading the beta firmware for R7000.  Everything looked good and I then when my status bar got to the rebooting the router's firmware, I got a pop-up screen saying AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED Your connection to this site is not private.  It wants me to input my username and password again.  Did you guys have to re-enter your password at this stage?  I never have in the past, so I am just sitting here not knowing what to do..................

Do I enter user name and password or cancel everything?

I would suggest that you re-enter your username and password and see where it is at.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

As I am away from home, I uploaded the firmware V1.0.7.6 remotely to the R7000 at home. The internet speed was slow and the first upload attempt took a long time to reached 82% and stopped. I guested the router admin session timed out. Luckily the router managed to resume after rebooting by itself. I tried again a few minutes later and the upload got through. Router performed the update sucessfully and things have been okey since then. I can access my NAS and IP Cam without problem.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

We do recommend updating via a wired Ethernet connection on the same LAN as the router rather than over Wi-Fi or from a remote location.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

I totally agree with you and would not recommend remote update. I did that because I have to be away from home for a long time and there is no one there who could do that for me locally.

I find that the Respond to Ping on Internet port is enabled but grayed out.  Everything else is fine.  Is this true for anyone else or am I lucky?

Updated mine and my trio of Trane XL950 Thermostats won't connect.  Rebooted the router and the thermostats, but no joy.  Haven't rolled back the firmware to troubleshoot yet as I figured I would see if anyone else experiences similar issues first.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

Did you try deleting the connnection in the stat(s)? If XL 950 is anything like the XL 824 a factory reset does wonders AS long as you understand the serviceman setup.

Nexia is another lame company.  If using remote app stop and restart app

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

I haven't done a factory reset yet - I will have to walk alll three menus and write everything down.  All three systems are different from one another, so the set-ups vary significantly.

All three are heat pumps, two are dual fuel.

The other 14 devices have no problems.

Grrr.....

Powered the router down and restarted.  That did the trick!

Reboots always worked before.  Weird.

About 15 mins ago I picked up my iPhone and to my surprise My Trane XL824 wasn't connected either. I was able to re-connect again from stat and all is good.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

I want to amend my response.  While the router seems to be working properly, I've noticed a decline in performance, both with wired and wifi connections.  I get a noticeable delay when connecting to web pages and periodic delays/interruption when downloading files (such as os updates).  Have any others experienced performance issues?  I performed a speed test and once it started it seemed fine.  It is just delays in getting response to web pages and a pauses in downloads that I am concerned about.  Here is my speed test result:Screen Shot 2016-12-18 at 8.52.01 AM.png

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

Maybe related, maybe not.  My Arlo Q camera uses the 5Ghz band and won't connect if speed is set to above 600Mbs.  Might be worth a try.

Huh. I just checked again and find that even though my reset yesterday showed that the Internet ping was disabled, it's back again and grayed out.

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

Ok, found out why this is.  If the VPN service is enabled, theRespond to Ping on Internet port is enabled but grayed out.  Disable VPN and all is well.

Without knowing the ins and outs of how the VPN service has to work, is this actually necessary?

Re: R7000 Firmware upgrade to V1.0.7.6

I recieved e-mail from Netgear notifying me of update. Downloaded file and got to looking and my model is R6900. Is this a mistake on their part or does the update apply to the R6900 as well as the R7000?

Thanks for the help.  Barry
