R7000 Keep losing internet connection several times per day on 15 minute marks

Hey everyone!

 

So, I have an issue that has been bugging the crap out of me over the last few months. I keep losing my Internet connection several times every day. It has been anywhere from 2-7 times a day. I have a NightHawk R7000P that's not even 2 years old. I'm not running the latest firmware, only because I read all the issues other users were having after they upgraded their firmware that included Netgear Armor. I am running version V1.3.1.44_10.1.23. Our Internet provider and modem is Spectrum, and our speeds are usually around 220 Mbps down and 12 Mbps up. There is, unfortunately, no other provider in our area. Ugh!

 

I lose Internet on both WI-FI and Ethernet connected devices when this happens, so I know it's not one or the other. Here's the crazy thing:

 

- It only lasts for 60 seconds or less and automatically reconnects, Always.

- It ALWAYS happens at the 15 minute mark, for example, 9:00am, 10:15am, 11:30am, 12:45pm etc. It is completely random and is never the same times each day. Isn't that weird? I have been reviewing the log on the router, and here is just a summary of the last few days when the connection has dropped:

As you can see, the times are never the same, all different, and hardly ever repeat, and the log shows that it reconnects within 60 seconds. This, of course, is very frustrating because I just started a work-from-home  job and need a stable connection, but also when we are watching Netflix, Hulu, etc, and it goes out, (granted it's only for 1 minute), the whole family gets upset. (and I get an earful!)

 

I plan on disconnecting my router at night soon, connecting a laptop directly to the Spectrum modem, and running a constant ping or script that I can look at to see if it is the modem. This would at least eliminate my router if it does drop during the night.

 

I need to get this fixed ASAP! Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you in advance! I greatly appreciate it!

I would try the direct connection to the modem. Spectrum has locked down their modems so you can't even log into them to check their connection or logs anymore. So its always good to start there. 

Plus if you call in, their default response is always "its not our line" from the very start.
