The R7000 FAQ page (https://kb.netgear.com/23794/R7000-FAQs) states:
What other VPN clients will work with the VPN service of the R7000?
Only OpenVPN clients for Windows, Mac and Linux (not Iphone/Android) will currently work with our VPN service. OpenVPN is not compatible with IPSec, IKE, PPTP, or L2TP.
However the router "genie" "Advanced Setup->VPN Service" seems to indicate support:
OpenVPN client setup instruction | |||
I have been trying to setup OpenVPN on my IPad and would concure with the FAQ that OpenVPN is NOT supported, does not work, on IPad.
Please advise.

For me OpenVPN is working on my Android device. I can connect without any issues to the router.

Re: R7000 OpenVPN IPhone/IPad Support
My post was really meant to put focus on the poor documentation from Netgear.
I see that I made the mistake saying that OpenVPN does not work on iStuff but that is not the case, it works just fine.
The issue I HAD was OpenVPN on iStuff would not connect to the Netgear router.
My my solution was to load to ASUS-Merlin firmware on the router. Better documented, better interface, better .opvn file generated.
