R7000 OpenVPN waiting solution for Android

Browsed many pages searching for a solution.  OpenVPN worked fine a year back or so.  Now it connects but never passes data, message is “waiting”.  Log  in OpenVPN will constantly retry to connect after timeout.  Is there a solution?

Temporarily roll back to a previous build, or head out for Netgear Support to get access to the Beta ... look there -> https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-OpenVPN-iOS-Updated-VPN-no-routing-to-...

I did roll back and it  did not help.  How  do I get a bet  build when out of warranty and no  service agreement?

Have re-downloaded the relevant OpenVPN config to oyur OpenVPN client - following the update, as well as following the roll-back again?

Re: R7000 OpenVPN waiting solution for Android

Installed V1.0.9.32_10.2.34, router rebooted, created a new VPN certificate, applied to OpenVPN on android phone.  Message on Android: Incoming packet rejected from [routerIP] : 12973 expected peer (allow this incoming source address/port byaddress; removing –remote or adding – float)
