R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

Recently got my R7000 and I'm getting 2upload on my ps4 where as I got 7+ with a much older router. Wired. Everything is in its default state on the router. It's not my modem, I've already tried resetting both modem and router. PC gets great upload but my ps4 doesn't. Any help appreciated.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

what was the ISP rated upload speed.

Did you set the PS4 to highes priority in the Dynamic QOS.

Share the snap of Dynamic qos enabled shot and the current priority in the QOS attached devices tab.

Test speeds with QoS disabled.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

Listen, ps4 will "never" show your correct speeds. It's all based on what server they decide to run your speed test on at sony's end. So sometimes your upload will show as 1mb or 7mb. It's all dependent on which of sony's servers they decide to connect you to while running your speed test. I assure you that nothing is wrong with connection or router. It's just how the playstion 4 handles it's speed tests. I use to wonder the same thing you did until I discovered that the speed tests are just estimates and only that. Cheers.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

I agree, run speed test from a wired LAN PC only. Don't use a game console. Not as accurate as LAN wired PCs.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

I ran and got 100/12 on wired PC. It's just PS4 where the upload is bad. I've seen people uncap their speeds on ps4, just wanted to know if anyone has an idea on how to do it. Appreciate the replies.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

One fact is ps4 have only 2.4ghz band. If your area is crowded with 2.4ghz there is not much you can do. But if you can run wire or do a powerline then give it a try.

it would be also good if you can reset the network setting and try again.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

can you run a ping to google and post your results?

click the windows icon, type in cmd

the black box command promt will pop up

type in this exact thing without the quotes "ping google.com -t"

this will ping google.com as long as youd like it to then just hit ctrl c to stop it.then post your results (there is youtube videos on how to do what i just mentioned)

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

Here's the ping test as requested https://prnt.sc/fiebnp

Also @mondenath, what do you mean run wired/powerline? I have an ethernet cable running through everything if that's what you're referring to.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

your ping looks solid, i wouldnt worry about anything. i take it your not lagging in games since you had no mention of it?

i would probably turn off QOS if you have it on and not many people use the internet while your gaming.

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

No lag at all, was just wondering if there's anything I can do to increase upload on ps4. If there's nothing else to be done, I'll just leave it be. Would you happent to know how to get your ping closest to 1 (PC)? My lowest has been like 8, just want efficiency 😄

Re: R7000 PS4 Upload Speeds

Word like I said you literally only need 1mb upload . Games don't send hardly any trafficnupstream so no worries there

Unfortunately I've trying to do the same thing for months. Turns out there not much you can do . Your ping is up to your internet provider and how they choose to route your traffic . Bummer but nothing you can tell them to change it really. Unless you move to an area where there wiring and routing are better your are more or less stuck with that ping broZ just be glad you don't have like 90ms ping in games lol.
