I tried it and had the same issues as 60 with the disconnects of WiFi. Rolled back to 42.
I also had the same issues with .64 as I did with .60. I also went back to .42.

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
I am having the same issues. It upgraded to .60 and kept rebooting, then upgrade to .64 with the same issue. Tried to reset to factory settings but keeps randomly rebooting every so often. I know re installed to the .42 version. fingers crossed. Is this working ok for others?

Yes, .42 is the latest stable version. .60 and .62 are dynamite. And not in a good way.

Oops, I meant .64 instead of .62 above.

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
I tried the newer firmware version 1.0.9.64 on Monday 2-4-19, and it's been working good so far, today is 2-7-19. But before I applied the update, I reset the router to factory setting while I was still on 1.0.9.42, not only once but twice. After the second time, I perfomed the update to .64. After that, I reset the router again to factory settings. After the reboot, I started to configure the router to my specifications, including the VPN, and the readyshare USB hard drive. I haven't had any issues so far exept the the web interface is slow to come up. I'll report if anything else shows up.
Thanks. Mike

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
Today, the router that I updated last week to firmware .64 locked up earlier today, no wifi, no wired connections. I had to turn it off and on to bring back online. I'll probably revert back to .42 if it does it agan.

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
We've been having issues off and on for the past month or two. Some days it's fine and some days it restarts every 10 minutes for apparently no reason. I even replaced our modem to make sure that wasn't the issue. Factory resets and firmware updates (and downgrades) don't seem to make any difference. The router is barely 18 months old and is now basically useless half the time we are home. Has there been any acknowledgement from Netgear? I'd ask them but they want cash just for email support...

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
I have been having this issue since 'upgrading' to .64 from .42 as well. Installed the newer firmware on March 16; reboots began that night and have become more frequent since. Have also tried factory resets, power cycles, cable vs. wireless connection, using different outlets, switching power cables. No change. Will try reverting to .42 but am not hopeful.

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
Good luck... Netgear actually reached out after my last forum post and setup a call where a tech remoted in to try to figure it out. The tech even mentioned they would be willing to replace the router if it turned out to be a firmware thing despite being out of warranty. We had to schedule a followup but they never actually called me back. They then emailed me to say that my ticket was closed because my router was out of warranty.
I bought a Linksys router to replace my R7000 and I hope anyone who sees this post does too. I wonder if there's tort liability here. If Netgear's firmware updates are breaking routers then there are clear damages per affected user and likely negligence on their part. Maybe I'll get in touch with some lawyer friends.

This is **bleep**. No matter which firmware I downgrade to the router still keeps randomly reboot.
Try 1.0.9.88, just out.

Make sure to do a hard reset to factory settings before updating. Do an extra reboot after the update. Do not reload saved configurations. Do the setup manually.

Note that random reboots can also be caused by a bad power supply.

Re: R7000 Random Reboots after 1.0.9.60 firmware upgrade
There are two newer firmware updates, 1.0.9.64, and 1.0.9.88. I installed the 88 a couple of weeks ago, and has had no issues so far. I had installed .64 before that, and it still was rebooting occasionally. I disabled "Smart Connect" in the Wireless Setup tab, and that stopped the rebooting. I have not enabled that option since.

I think they use a different numbering scheme depending on the model of the router.
