R7000 Router random dropping intenet to imac even though hardwired

help please...i am randomly losing my internet connection and losing my network connection but only on my imac.

The imac is hardwired by the way

Ive tried apple support and they cant see anything wrong with the imac

i tried resetting the router and that worked for about 3 weeks..its started to happen again though

every other device on the network is stable

ive changed switches, ports, cables etc..nothing worked apart form the reset

Cant decide if its the router or the imac??

Any ideasplease???

Welcome to the community, @KevB46

If you bypass the router, will you have a stable connection?

You may want to try that out in order to further isolate.

Is there another device that's using wired connection on the router? Is it stable too?

Another thing you may do is to use Address Reservation feature on the router.

thx Elaine

im not sure what you mean by "bypass the router"?

yes there are tvs and a pc that are wired and all seem stable

hard to know for sure because the mac does most of the work but i would say so

adress reservation is a static ip adress? if so yes i tried that previously

Connecting the computer directly to the modem.

That's a strange scenario you have there.
Maybe borrow a different router or reinstall the OS?
