R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

Hello,

In the previous firmware version I had Upstream QoS enabled only and download was not restricted.

Since the V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 update the old QoS options transfered over into the new advanced QoS and "uplink" bandwidth limited both my upstream and downstream!.

I used to manually set the priority of my devices and only QoS upstream bandwidth. Now its appears to be either Dynamic where I can't set the priority of each device manually or advanced where there is only the "Uplink" bandwidth which limits both up and downstream at the same rate.

Is there anyway round this in new firmware? something i'm missing? or should I reflash back to 1.0.7.10?

Dynamic QoS maybe NG new way of handling devices on the UP and Down. Can you disable Dynamic QoS and manually input speeds?

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

Hello,

The 2 options are dynamic where I can input the speeds but it automatically prioritises devices.

Or Advanced where I can manually prioritise devices but can't set upload and download individually!

What happens if you set up device priority?

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

I can't that's the problem.

If i go advanced to set the device priority manually, I only have the ONE option to set the "uplink" bandwidth which limits both my upload and download speed.

Being as i have 200 down and 20 up i need to be able to set the speeds in advanced individually.

Not sure if thats something that you can do on this model router. I recommend that you phone contact NG support and ask them for what is supported on this model router.

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

this is only something that has changed with the most recent firmware, i was hoping it was something i was missing.

If this is an option that they have just removed and made dynamic instead i'll have to roll back or look for a better firmware.

Upstream_QoS_Setup.jpg

This is an older version of the firmware where i can set upstream and downstream individually and manually set priority!

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

Might see if DDWRT or OpenWRT maybe supported on thos model router or roll back if you had this ability in a prior version of OEM FW. I contact NG support and ask about this as well.

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

Does anyone from NG support help on these forums or is it only paid for services they offer?

Does anyone else know if this is something that is now no longer available or is this something i'm missing / not doing correctly.

@Mike-P Did you try using a different browser?

What's the browser version you're using?

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

Thanks for the reply.

It was using Chrome, I didn't try a different browser just chrome.

I have since rolled back firmware to get the settings back. I can't see how a browser could omit the settings.

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

I would try IE11 or FF or Opera. Browsers are known for different issues and since Chrome, FF and Opera are updated on a regualar basis, they can present new issues. So it's always good to test with different browsers to see if the problem tracks there as well. Then you'll now for sure.

I am having the same issue, but it affects only ethernet connections. With wifi, the speed isn't limited.

You can down grade FW and test again if you can.

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

Downgrade seem the only good solution.

I tried switching browsers. The only way to solve my problems is by disabling completely QoS.

Something I don't want because I have a VoIP device.

Otherwise, Dynamic QoS doesn't prioritise my Obihai device.

Re: R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 QoS options

You can place the VoIP device into the routers DMZ. You don't need to use QoS for VoIP.
