R7000 VPN encryption level question.

I ser several posts for other models where Netgear is using 1024 bit ancient encryption for the included VPN in the GUI. Whats the encryption for the VPN on the Nighthawk R7000? Sure hope is better than that...

The thing I can't figure out is how they authenticate.  As far as I can tell, there's nothing that is allowing you to make your VPN connection unique to you--which seems like a HUGE security hole.  Unless I'm missing something, anyone who knows your IP and can follow NetGear setup instructions can easily gain access to your network.  What am I missing??

I'd wish to know that too. Just purchased the R7000 and the VPN was one of the key selling points to me. Now, I'm having the same concerns as you do - are all units using a common certificate?

Just a thought - perhaps we could compare MD5s of our certificates and see if they're the same?
