R7000 bricked during firmware update to 1.0.9.42

Hi,

I've been very happy with my R7000 router, until recently.  I received a notification from the nighthawk mobile app that there is an update available for my router.  I proceeded to the update just like I've done with the Genie app wirelessly.  Well, the update did NOT complete and it bricked my router.  I've attempted to reset it without luck.

Please advise!

PS: I went to costco and picked up a XR450 but the wifi speed is not as good as the R7000, even after the newest firmware update.

What, exactly, does "bricked" mean to you?  As usual, showing actual
actions with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...)
can be more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

Depending on what "bricked" means to you, you may be a candidate for
the TFTP recovery scheme.  See, for example:

In-line images in these forums must wait for moderator approval, so I
can't see yours yet.  Copy+paste is your friend.  (An attached file
incurs no such delay.)

Only the power light keep blinking white after the update failed.

I pressed and hold the reset button for over a minute, but it didn't do anything.

I pressed and hold the reset button for over 30 sec and while holding it down, I unplugged the power cord and replugged it back in and continue holding the reset button.  Nothing change.

Ok.  I'd try the TFTP recovery scheme.

Mine is doing the same thing, I have tried to update firmware in GUI, with the app and downloaded chk file to desktop. The power light just blinks white forever.   Use TFTP to relaod the R7000-V1.0.9.34_10.2.36.chk version.   The wierd thing is that all my setting where still there once I loaded the older firmware back on.  Link below is the how to.
